FAQ: Photos

Photo Size and Format Specifications
Photos can be uploaded to Squirt as long as they meet the following specifications:

  • Format: Squirt accepts photos in JPEG, GIF and PNG format only.
  • Size: Squirt will accept photos of any size. However, very large photos (larger than 800 x 600 pixels or 100kb) will be automatically resized by the photo upload tool so that they may be shown on Squirt.
The dimensions of your photos might be altered slightly to fit within the photo preview pane on Squirt profiles. However, Fan Club members can click on any photo to see it full size - the same size and dimensions as you originally uploaded it up to 800x600/100 kb.

If You Don't Upload Any photos
If you don't upload any photos at all, you can't have/select a primary pic. As a result, Squirt will post a "No Pic" icon in place of your picture.

A lot of guys won't contact you if you don't have a photo, or respond if you contact them. Many guys even post in their profile descriptions "No photos - No Reply." It's always better to add at least one pic!

Adding Photos to a Cruising Listing (Squirt Desktop only)
There are two ways to add photos to a Cruising Listing on Squirt.

When you're filling in the Listing info:

  • Click the "Add photos Now" button at the top of the Listing, and the photo upload window will open.
  • Click "Browse" or "Choose File"
  • Browse through the contents of your computer until you locate the pic you want to upload.
  • Click "Open" or "Choose" to select the photo you want to add.
  • If you have more photos to upload, click "Browse" or "Choose File" again until you have uploaded as many photos as you want / as you can.

Then, continue filling in the listing details, and submit it for Dick to review.
Remember, you can get FREE Fan Club membership time when you add photos to a new Listing.

After a Cruising Listing is already posted to Squirt:

You can't upload new photos to an existing Cruising listing (Dick has to approve before they go up on Squirt) but Dick LOVES getting photos of Cruising spots.

To add photos to a spot that is already listed on the site, please include your photos as attachments and send them directly to Dick at his E-mail address, dickhunter@squirt.org.

Be sure to include the Listing name, location, and a link to the Listing you want the photos added to, so he can find it and add the photos.

Be sure to also include your username, so that Dick can give you your FREE Fan Club membership time for adding photos to a Squirt Listing!

Add Photos to an E-mail (Desktop only)
You can send up to 5 photos with each Email message you send.

To add photos to your E-mail:

  • Click the "Add photos Now" button under the area where you write your E-mail message, and the photo upload window will open.
  • Click ‘Send’, when you are done composing your message and adding your photos.

Troubleshooting Photo Uploads
If your photos will not upload, and you are following the instructions, it may be one of these things:

  • You have already uploaded as many photos as you can. If you already have 10 profile photos, you will not be allowed to add more until you remove some that are already posted to your profile.
  • Squirt accepts photos in JPEG, GIF and PNG format only.
  • Your photo file name contains illegal characters. File names for Squirt photos can only be letters and numbers, such as yourfile123.jpg. It cannot contain any other characters, such as #$&* etc. If it does, just open it up and re-save it as something with letters and numbers only.
  • Your photo file name contains more than one period (.) File names for Squirt photos can have only one period / dot (.) just before the word jpg. So, a file name such as mycock.hard.jpg would not be accepted. If your photo file name has more than one period, just open it up and re-save it as something else.

If none of these tips have helped, and you are still having trouble adding photos, please click the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of any Squirt page, and Dick Hunter will help you post your photos.
