Description: This beat is now open. The area has sealed roads, specific marked parking areas. Council still doing upgrades. No parking access to grassed areas or behind and to the right of the toilet block. Use caution as a lot of sandstone blocks alongside the road, especially up to in the main park.
This is an out-of-the-way park in a very quiet area. The toilet block is one of only two in the Cessnock LGA open 24/7. It is also the cleanest public toilet facility in the Hunter/Newcastle area. Cruisers can use the cubicles, or, if privacy and/or nudity preferred, use the disability facility as the door can be locked from the inside.
As of January 2021, the area is now sealed with restricted parking. You can still park to the left of the new road between the first two shelters on the left. No stopping permitted to the right and as you drive around to the back car park and then there are more parking spaces alongside the disability parking bay. Most of the area now has concrete footpaths.
However, be careful during wet weather as I noticed that there is no drainage and water has flowed down to the large BBQ area and this will be quite muddy and slippery. No paths to the shelter adjacent to the toilet block or to the far BBQ area below the large Bbq area.
Parking is sign-posted 2P meaning 2 hours parking limit. Garbage bins have not been reinstalled and are against the left wall of the toilet block. Use caution when entering/leaving the area as the road narrows to just one car halfway up/down the entrance hill.
